HOW WE USE AI
Human-made.
AI-amplified.
We use AI, and we’d rather tell you than have you wonder. Here’s exactly how we use it, where it never takes the lead, and the lines we don’t cross.
01 / THE SHORT VERSION
A tool,
not a shortcut.
Every game and app we make starts with a person and an idea.
The ideas, the stories, the game design and the creative direction come from us. AI helps a small studio build faster, test more thoroughly and polish further than we otherwise could. That means more time spent on the parts that make something worth playing: the feel, the balance, the details.
AI doesn’t decide what we make or why. When it’s part of something you use, we say so plainly.
02 / WHO DOES WHAT
The people.
Concepts, worlds and stories. Game rules and balance targets. Every case, character and puzzle. Art and sound direction. What gets cut. And the final call on what ships.
The tools.
Writing and reviewing code alongside us. Testing and balancing at a scale we couldn’t reach by hand. Producing art and audio from our briefs, which we pick from, edit and approve. Performing our voice-overs, using original voices we design ourselves.
03 / BUILT IN-HOUSE
We build our
own AI tools.
The busywork goes to the tools. The creative work stays with us.
Part of what we do is build AI tools for our own development: assistants that run thousands of balance tests, keep design documents up to date, check our code and help us art-direct. They make a small team faster and our games and apps more finely tuned. They’re there to take on the repetitive work, not the creative work.
04 / OUR LIVE GAMES AND APPS
Exactly how AI
shows up in each.
The full details, including exactly what is sent
and to whom, are in our privacy policy.
05 / OUR COMMITMENTS
The lines
we don’t cross.
We always tell you.
Any game or app of ours that uses AI says so clearly, and explains how, on its page and in our privacy policy.
A person has the final say.
Someone on our team writes or approves every story, design and asset we ship. Live AI replies, such as a suspect’s answer in Open Verdict, are written in the moment, so we write the characters, set the rules they follow and test them hard.
Your data doesn’t train AI.
We never use your data to train AI models, and we never sell it. Our privacy policy lists what is sent to AI services and why.
No imitating real people.
We don’t copy named living artists’ styles, or real people’s voices or likenesses, without their consent. The voices in our games are original, designed from scratch for each character.
QUESTIONS ABOUT AI?
Ask us anything.
If something here isn’t clear, or you’d like to know more about a specific game or app, we’re happy to explain.
