Open Verdict

A modern whodunit where the suspects actually answer. Type any question you want, and they respond in character — on the spot, in their own words. Catch the killer by cornering them with their own contradictions.

Go off script. Get to the truth.

You’re the detective. The victim is on the floor. The suspects are in the next room.

Free cases offer preset questions. Bureau cases let you type your own questions — where were you at nine?, why is your handwriting on this note? — and get answers in character. Access to Bureau cases requires a purchase. Suspects deflect, get defensive, and sometimes lie straight to your face. Catching the lie is the game.

Nothing is improvised while you play. Every case is written in advance — a victim, a set cast, physical evidence, and forensic findings that hold together under scrutiny. Your questions are open-ended; the facts underneath aren’t, and any given playthrough has exactly one correct answer.

There are 58 cases across five eras — Modern, 1920s, Victorian, 1970s, and Cyberpunk — ranging from a rookie’s first body to cold cases where the evidence has had decades to rot.

Ask anything

No dialogue tree, no menu of pre-written lines. You type the question; the suspect answers in character.

They lie

Guilty suspects protect their story. Finding the seam where two testimonies stop matching is how a case breaks open.

The killer can change

Many cases quietly re-cast the guilty party on replay, so a solved case can’t be memorised or spoiled by a friend.

Present evidence at the table

Put the bloodied glove in front of the man who says he never touched it, and watch the answer change.

Ten free cases

The free cases use prepared questions to teach the ropes — the fastest way to find out whether the game is for you.

Fully voiced

An era-matched cast, with a noir presentation built for phones.
